This is how Shopee’s homepage look like online. Shopee’s webpage design is rather clean, organise and simple, giving it a very classy outlook with not many distractions. This enables the shoppers to focus on the products. Shoppers will be able to find the products easily as Shopee’s webpage does not have a ton of advertisements flooding the webpage, unlike other websites.
As there are a variety of items sold on Shopee, it will be difficult and not user friendly if the items were not categorised. To make it easier and more user friendly for the consumers, the items are categorised into 20 different categories, namely, woman’s apparel, men’s apparel, cosmetics and fragrances, accessories, games and collectibles, mobile and gadgets, home and livings, toys kids and babies, computers and peripherals, design and crafts, food, watches, woman’s shoes, men’s shoes, bags, sports and hobbies, pet accessories, books, ticket and vouchers and miscellaneous.
Unlike other online market that only provides typical categories that is more convenient for shoppers who already know what to buy, Shopee also have categories on the trending hashtags, to facilitate those shoppers that do not have anything in mind and is finding inspiration.
Small HeadingTo further aid the shoppers, a search bar was added into the top of the Shopee’s home page. This will come in handy to shoppers that have item that they want to find but Shopee does not have a category for it. The search box’s function is to allow shopper to enter a keyword and submit it to a web search engine server-side script The web search engine consist an index database that is queried for entries that contain one or more of the shopper's keywords. According to the keyword typed in by the shopper, the searched results of the keywords will be shown. One example will be, if I am a shopper that is looking for floral prints, I will just type in “floral” in the Search Shopee search bar. And the above will be the result I will get. A list of items with the keyword “floral” will appear and make it more convenient for me.
